  • Assistance and representation to RCMP Members involved in labour relations processes, including:

​

  • Code of Conduct Proceedings:

    • Prepare Members for investigation interviews

    • Review Investigation Reports

    • Draft written submissions to the conduct authority or written responses to the conduct board

    • Prepare Members for and assist them at conduct meetings

    • Prepare Members for and represent them at conduct hearings

    • Review conduct authority or conduct board decisions, proceeding records, and advise on possible grounds of appeal

    • File appeals and draft appeal submissions 

    • Communicate with the Office for the Coordination of Grievances and Appeals

 

  • Individual Internal Grievances (RCMP Act, Part III):

    • Advise and assist Members in presenting or responding to a grievance

    • Communicate with the Office for the Coordination of Grievances and Appeals

    • Draft and file Level I and Level II written submissions

 

  • Administrative Discharge and Demotion Proceedings:

    • Review Notices of Intent to Discharge or Demote

    • Draft and file written responding submissions

    • File appeals and draft appeal submissions

 

  • Work Place Harassment and Violence Complaints: 

    • Draft and file Notices of Occurrence

    • Advise and assist with resolution efforts

    • Advise and assist with conciliation

    • Provide advice and guidance during the investigation process

    • Review of Investigator's Report

    • Advise on any Code of Conduct implications

Workplace Violence and Harassment

  • Provide advice, assistance and representation for principal parties (complainants) or responding parties (respondents) 

  • Draft and file complaints or responding documents

  • Prepare clients for investigation interviews

  • Respond to investigation reports

  • Assist clients with workplace restoration efforts
